Andrew T. Smith is a writer, filmmaker and academic based in England. His interests include silent film, science fiction, the golden age of animation, vintage comedy teams, and the works of Rod Serling, Nigel Kneale, Joe Dante, Peter Bogdanovich, Vincent Price and James Stewart.

Forthcoming 2010 – Marx and Remarx: Creating and Re-Creating the Lost Marx Brothers Radio Series A history of Flywheel, Shyster and Flywheel, both a lost Marx Brothers series that acted as a nursery for material later featured in their classic film Duck Soup, and latterly a BBC produced revival/remake which demonstrates the enduring legacy of this comic team. (Bear Manor Media)


210 – Science Fiction and Fantasy Television Tutor at the University of Sunderland. Seminar leader for undergraduate module which investigates the evolution of Science Fiction Television and Telefantasy.

2010 – Second Chances: Rod Serling, Redrafting and Adaptation.  Reformatted Academic Paper presented at the NERFS conference held at Northumbria University, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

2009 – Second Chances: Rod Serling, Redrafting and Adaptation. Academic Paper presented by invitation to the 2009 Rod Serling Conference at Ithaca College, New York.

2009 to 2010 – History of Broadcasting Tutor at The University of Sunderland. Seminar leader for undergraduate module which provides students with an up to date chronology of British Broadcasting.
